Noor Hasaan's paintings are engaging conceptual studies of her experiences. Her paintings and her story grab your heart tightly. While all the horror that Iraqis continue to endure which is being done in the names of American citizens is always in my thoughts, these paintings are a sign of the persistence of human creativity, and the ability of the human spirit to produce art that can convey things which words can not do. Noor's paintings are complex and skillful. This is an important artist to note and this exhibition is likely to be just one of many to come for Noor. I look forward to seeing more of Noor's works. Thank you to the organizers of this exhibition. To Alaa, it was an honor to met and talk with you.
